Having been closed since 2010, a scheme described as "an exemplar regeneration opportunity which will act as a catalyst for the positive transformational change of the Kirkley Waterfront and wider town" was validated in July last year.
An application for outline planning permission, which allows for a decision on the general principles of how a site can be developed, was submitted to East Suffolk Council by development consultancy, Pegasus Group
It is still "awaiting decision" with the council.
