Brett Duncan, 51, was competing in the ninth round of the Lowestoft & Oulton Broad Motor Boat Club (LOBMBC) championships on July 24 last year when his powerful hydroplane craft crashed into a stationary houseboat near the edge of the Suffolk broad.
