The Angel Gardens, on Angel Road, near Waterloo Park could be demolished to make way for nine new three-bedroom homes as a bid has been put to City Hall.

The scheme lodged by owner Spencer Gray proposes demolishing the pub which has sat empty for over two years — its only use being as a forecourt for the car dealership next door.

Mr Gray also owns the land occupied by a garage next to the pub, which would also have to be relocated as part of the scheme.
