City house that dodged demolition could be given new lease of life
Now Howard House, based on King Street, could be given a new lease of life as plans have been lodged with Norwich City Council to transform it into a home.
Once owned by Henry Howard, who was the Duke of Norfolk from 1677, the property has sat empty since the mid 1990s despite efforts to bring it back into use in recent years.

Howard House was overhauled in 2020 by Orbit Homes who earlier in the year said it was trying to find a contractor to build 190 flats next to the site as part of a major - but now stalled - redevelopment project.
