Battle of the supermarkets sees Sainsbury's named as town winner
Cromer is set to get a new Sainsbury's branch after North Norfolk District Council gave its plans to take over the Homebase site on Holt Road the green light despite strong opposition from Morrisons.
Morrisons objected to the plans for the new store, which will be located just 0.4 miles, from its own branch, on the grounds that it would draw business away and cause economic harm to the town.
