The riders were stuck for hours on the Wipeout rollercoaster at Pleasurewood Hills after it stopped mid-journey at the Lowestoft theme park this afternoon.  

Firefighters were called to the scene at around 1.26pm, with specialist crews working to bring those trapped back down to the ground.

A spokesman for Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service said: "The carriages, which came to a stop on the track, are approximately 15 metres in the air, but not upside down."
