Maurice, a ginger tom rescue cat, lives with his owners and their two children in Cley.

He was found by his owner Stuart Banks with his leg “hanging off” on Sunday morning and was rushed to an emergency vet.

Mr Banks said he had seen Maurice late on Saturday night, and in the morning he was found by the door and couldn’t get through the cat flap.  

“It was really quite horrific,” he said.
