Soul Church pastor upsets villagers with SIX failed attempts to rent out his pool

But for Trevor Pimlott, that’s only half the story.

A former director of Norwich's Soul Church has tried six times to convince his local council to let him rent out the swimming pool at his Weston Longville home to members of the public.

On each occasion, however, his attempts have been rebuffed, with the authority siding with neighbours.

They have complained that the site has already been used for late-night parties and baptisms, one of which led to an "aggressive" exchange, and that the village's roads cannot cope with the traffic the scheme would bring.

Councillors also appear to be reaching the end of their tether with the churchman, with one saying his applications have no become "vexatious" and another questioning the time that was being taken up by his repeated attempts.

Mr Pimlott first opened the pool to the public before the pandemic, allowing people to book sessions.

However, the complex - which also has a steam room, sauna, hot tub and kitchenette - did not have permission from Broadland Council to be operated commercially.

In 2021, the 80-year-old put in an application to open a holiday accommodation site at his property, including not just the pool but also........
