The Metro, in Dereham - which has long been a fixture of the town’s nightlife - relaunched in July with pledges to “bring the venue back to life”.

The owner said the latest closure was simply for renovation.

Jamie Lee, who is believed to own the venue along with a dozen other sites across East Anglia, said through a spokesman that the nightclub will return in December “bigger and better than it’s ever been”.
