Derelict village post office could be turned into housing after failed revivals
Developers are seeking permission to convert Beeston Post Office to two three-bedroom homes.
If the bid is approved by Breckland Council it will mark an end to a long string of efforts to maintain and revive the building - which has stood since 1887 and once served as the focal point of village life.
In 2008, villagers celebrated with George Freeman, then the Tory parliamentary candidate and now Mid Norfolk MP, after the post office was briefly saved from a wave of national cuts.
