All poultry to be culled after Norfolk bird flu outbreak hits 'large flock'
The disease has hit Norfolk especially hard, with thousands of birds having to be killed.
Now the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and the Animal Plant Health Agency have announced that the highly pathogenic H5N1 strain of avian influenza was found in a large flock of commercial poultry near Dereham yesterday.
A three-kilometre protection zone and a 10km surveillance zone have been declared around the premises, and all the birds inside are to be humanely culled.
