People in Dereham experienced a "loud howling noise and a big reduction in daylight" at around 3.15pm on Monday.

Karl Spooner, who lives in the town, witnessed the tornado from his window and claimed "he had never seen anything like it".

"One minute, my clothes pegs were swirling mid-air around my garden, and after about 10 seconds, silence," he said. "Absolutely no wind, not even a breeze."
