Nicky Houghton, 49, of Normanston Drive, Lowestoft, pleaded guilty at Great Yarmouth Magistrates' Court on Wednesday to persistently making use of public communication networks to cause annoyance, inconvenience or anxiety.

The case stemmed from a call made at 4.48pm on July 20 in which Houghton claimed a red vehicle had tried to run him off his bicycle.

He repeatedly swore at the call handler and threatened to kill the driver if police did not help him.
