The landlady at the Swan Inn, in Mattishall, has announced that it will shut before Christmas.

Carol Kenny blamed the decision on "declining sporadic footfall".

It is understood a new landlord is being sought.

It it not clear, however, whether the venue will be able to reopen before Christmas.

In a Facebook post, the management said: "It is with a heavy heart we bring you the news the Swan will close - under the present........
