Happy View, in Earlham Green Lane, was warned it required major improvements in checks to ensure its food on offer is safe to eat after an inspection on May 23.

The site, which is known for its range of chow mein and chop suey dishes, received the poor rating when Norwich City Council visited the site near Clover Hill.

The agency also found that cooking and reheating temperatures were not being checked or recorded.

In its report, the inspector said: "Food, such as celery, was unfit because it was past its 'use by' date of May 15.
