The borough council has been working to freshen up the Market Place in a scheme which has included installing new paving, landscaping, benches and planters.

The aim was to create a space where people feel encouraged to spend longer browsing and dining.

While the work was under way, the town's two-day market was being held at the northern end of the Market........
