Concerns over cold caller using van and trailer loaded with gravel
The man has been seen knocking on doors in the Gayton area near King's Lynn.
He was reportedly using a van with a trailer loaded with gravel.
A Norfolk County Council spokeswoman said: "Often, when this approach is used, the cold caller will quote an initial low price for the work, but once work has commenced the price will increase dramatically."
The warning message advised people to never deal with cold callers offering to work on or around a property.
It also warned people not to trust a cold caller in claiming any work in your home needs to be done.
The statement added: "Never allow a cold caller access to your property, roof or garden even if they are offering to do tasks for free or a small fee.
"Never pay for work before it is completed.
"When looking to have work done on or around your property only deal with reputable companies you have researched and chosen yourself and have obtained a written quotation from before commencing the work."
