Secret behind strange keyboard imprint in historic street revealed

Molly Sole put a permanent stamp on the pavement on the corner of Elm Hill and Princes Street when she pushed a mould of a typewriter into wet cement in 1999.

Describing the deed as an “act of anarchy” the former Norwich University of the Arts student had no idea the imprint would remain more than 25 years later.

She said: “I walked that street every day when I was at uni.
