Grade II listed Georgian townhouse FINALLY gets new lease of life
Number 28 in St Giles Street, opposite the multi-storey car park, is getting an extensive revamp as the building is set to become six flats.
That's Property Ltd submitted plans in January to Norwich City Council to develop the site into "high-quality residential accommodation".
Now, the bid has been approved, and the building's interior will be completely gutted, repainted and fitted with modern kitchen and bathroom facilities.

The applicant has stated that the changes will not create "substantial harm" to the listed building and outweigh the benefits of bringing the site back to use.
The premises, built between 1785 and 1790, were once part of a group of large townhouses along the side of St Giles.
They were knocked down in the 1930s to make way for the construction of City Hall, but number 28 miraculously dodged demolition.

The site was home to tech company Pellcomp Software for nine years until autumn 2023.
When Pellcomp left, estate agents could not find another tenant despite the property being on the market for more than a year.
