Cathedral Retail Park is home to the café at Home Bargains, where shoppers can enjoy a sausage roll for 50p and a pot of tea for £1.

Gaining significant interest on social media, I thought I would test if the food was as much of a bargain buy as I had been led to believe.

Brace yourselves - for the grand total of £15.03 I purchased a mozzarella pesto focaccia, a pepperoni pizza panini, a hot chocolate, a banana milkshake, a sausage roll, a cheese and onion roll, a chocolate doughnut, a cinnamon whirl, a maple and pecan........
