Plans emerge for 100-acre solar farm near Norwich
The proposed site is spread across three fields in Alderford, near Norwich, which are currently used as farmland.
Until now, the area has remained largely untouched while swathes of land in other parts of the county have been earmarked for major solar developments.
The proposed farm, called Plough Meadow, would be located south of Hall Road and produce enough energy to power 7,000 homes.
Overall, Norfolk's solar stock is set to increase by at least 17,000 acres in the coming years, equivalent to almost 10,000 football pitches.
