Neighbours fear parking nightmare amid nursery expansion in 'gridlocked' street

The proposed expansion of Traquinas Childcare, in Old Croxton Road, Thetford, has sparked more than 20 objections from people living in the area.

The plans would create space for an extra 45 children and four more staff members - more than doubling the existing facility in size.

This has worsened tensions between the business and those living nearby, with fears that issues with parking in the "gridlocked" street will only be exacerbated.

Traquinas nursery in Old Croxton Road (Image: Newsquest) The applicant, Paulo Meireles, currently runs Traquinas Childcare at 36 Old Croxton Road and hopes use the adjacent property at number 34 to expand its services.

The company has a second nursery in Raymond Street and was recently rated outstanding during an Ofsted inspection in March.

But the application has prompted complaints from those living there, with many people raising safety concerns about the road, which often has cars parked on both........
