Fears of slippages on medieval cobbles if cafe serves drinks into evening

The issue emerged after the Courtyard Cafe in Elm Hill applied to Norwich City Council for a licence to serve alcohol late into the evening.

Neighbours living along the historic street lodged official objections to the application and highlighted their concerns about increased anti-social behaviour in the area.

It has been suggested the proposals would increase the risk of people slipping on cobbles on their way back into the city centre after a night out.
