Breckland Council had agreed to spend the huge sum on a property in Thetford with the hopes of bringing in extra income through rent charges.

But some members have questioned whether it is "wise" or not to spend the money, and have asked for more consideration of the risks involved in the deal.

The property dates back to the 1980s, but the council has not specified its exact location.
