Airfield speed trial organiser could face prosecution over participant's death
Martin McConnell died on July 23, 2023 at an event at Tibenham Airfield when his Suzuki motorbike crashed off the runway after reaching speeds of more than 214mph.
He was involved in an event where participants used a half-mile stretch of the runway to try and reach as high speeds as possible, and was attempting to break the site's 204mph land speed record.
It was organised by Stowmarket-based Terminal Velocity Events Ltd, a company founded and run by Matthew Flynn.
