The James Paget University Hospital in Gorleston was due to launch a new automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) system on Monday, May 12 – but a fault with one of the payment machines delayed its full introduction until later in the week.

And now an outpatient assistant said the situation in the staff car park has become “horrendous” - but hospital bosses said staff were made aware of the new system ahead of its launch.

The employee, who asked not to be named, said: “Since the new system was brought in, it’s been horrendous to get into the car park.........
