Lidl has been warned smells emanating from a nearby sewage treatment plant could see shoppers dropping their bags and fleeing from its proposed new store in Caister.

Last year, the supermarket chain submitted papers to Great Yarmouth Borough Council (GYBC) in relation to its hopes to open a new supermarket on land adjacent to Yarmouth Stadium.

The proposed location for the supermarket is next to the junction between Yarmouth Road and the Caister by-pass.
