National Grid is planning to refurbish the distinctive frame of the Grade II listed Victorian gasholder on Admiralty Road - which is one of only 19 of such structures listed in England.

The company has submitted an application to Great Yarmouth Borough Council seeking planning permission for temporary use of land next to the gasholder to provide a working area for contractors during the refurbishment project.

The plans include a site compound area, a welfare facility and office portacabins.
