Rupert Lowe, millionaire and independent MP for Great Yarmouth, launched Great Yarmouth First this week, and has funded the membership fees personally.

He said he plans to cover the next 500 memberships as well – which cost £10 each.

“We are building a powerful local movement that will fight for local priorities. No petty national politics, just local politics for local people,” he said.
