Failed care home that closed over safety fears could be turned into housing
Clarence Lodge, on Clarence Road in Gorleston, shut down more than five years ago after inspectors questioned the suitability of the building and labelled it unsafe for residents.
The premises has been empty ever since - but a planning application submitted to Great Yarmouth Borough Council could see a new lease of life for the building.
The proposal is seeking a change of use of the property into six apartments and two houses of multiple occupation (HMOs).
