'Miraculous' medal finds its way back to family 50 years after being stolen

But against all odds, and more than 50 years since the theft, the silver medallion is miraculously making its way back home.

The story of the medal begins in 1894 when it was awarded to Daniel Clarke, a Great Yarmouth fisherman who had helped rescue the crew of a fishing smack abandoned in the North Sea.

After he died, the medal was inherited by his son, Stephen Daniel Clarke, who moved to Rotherham after the First World War.
