Middleton Church of England Primary Academy is due to close from September when it merges with Gayton Church of England Primary Academy.

The Diocese of Norwich Education and Academies Trust proposed the amalgamation of the schools because of dwindling numbers at the school in Middleton, to the east of King's Lynn.

The school had just 10 students on roll as of December last year which the trust says is a pressure on finances and means children would be better served at a more sustainable school.
