Norwich GPs say targeted prostate cancer screening scheme helping spot early cases

Prostate cancer has made headlines in recent days, after government advisors controversially recommended screening should not be made routinely available for the majority of men.

However, a scheme which has seen five Norwich practices targeting men considered to be at specific risk of the disease is helping get early treatment, GPs said.

Norwich Health CIC took over a programme of contacting patients, testing, reviewing and referring when necessary after funding issues with that scheme.
