Green light for almost £2m to be spent building new homes in Norfolk town

Norfolk County Council's Conservative-controlled council has agreed to make £1.8m available for six apartments and three bungalows in North Walsham.

The money will be used for a scheme to provide the self-contained homes for people who need extra support to live independently.

The homes, planned for Yarmouth Road, will be for people with learning disabilities, autism and physical disabilities, specially designed to meet their needs.

A registered care provider will give support to the people living there.

The council's cabinet agreed to provide £1.8m to not-for-profit social housing provider Golden Lane Housing to develop the homes.
