Fines for city drivers on hold after shock discovery that order expired 41 years ago
From the end of this month, Norfolk County Council was intending to start fining drivers caught turning right into King Street and Carrow Hill from the A147 Carrow Road / Koblenz Avenue between certain times.

Cameras, to capture number plates so penalty notices of up to £70 can be issued, have been in place since February.

But, as part of the process ahead of introducing the fines, officers at County Hall made the remarkable discovery that the order they were looking to rely on expired in 1984.
That was the year when blockbuster films Ghostbusters and Gremlins were newly released in cinemas and Norwich City's famous Milk Cup victory over Sunderland was still a year away.
