Cross-party alliance unites to challenge Norfolk solar farm plans
Proposals for a string of solar farms - including what would be the UK's largest - have been lodged in recent months.
Concern over the 4,000-acre High Grove solar farm, which would spring up on five sites between Castle Acre and Dereham, has prompted MPs to unite in defiance.

Mid Norfolk MP George Freeman, who has 15 towns and villages within his constituency that would be affected by the proposals, has convened a new cross-party alliance which will meet for the first time on Friday (April 25).

The MPs have invited representatives from each of the 19 villages involved, Norfolk County Council and Breckland District Council to the table.
Together they will discuss the scale of the development, its land use, any potential environmental impact and the importance of protecting productive agricultural land.
