Thetford Post Office's Market Place branch closed its doors last month, but it was due to reopen in the former Peacocks store in King Street.

Work had started to refurbish that store, but the opening was delayed because of a flood at the site.

And the Post Office has now announced the move has been scrapped for what it described as "unforseen circumstances" - with the MP who represents the town saying it was due to "disagreements" between the Post Office and the landlord of the Peacocks building.
