Nature group celebrates a decade safeguarding Breckland's incredibly rare plants
Since it was founded in 2015, the Breckland Flora Group has grown into a 60-strong band of trained volunteers who meticulously count, map and photograph the area's plants, recording habitat conditions and threats.
The data gathered has "transformed understanding of some of the UK’s rarest and most threatened plants", helping to improve their management and restore habitats.
Specialist Brecks species include spring speedwell and Spanish catchfly, which grow nowhere else in Britain, while perennial knawel is found nowhere else on Earth.
