The firm's board commissioned an independent, vet-led review in response to covert film footage highlighting what it calls "appalling practices" at its North Moor Farm in Lincolnshire.

Earlier this year, activist group Animal Justice Project released a video including animals being killed using an illegal method known as "piglet thumping", as well as pigs left in poor living conditions.

The review, led by independent vet Dr Andy Butterworth, found that 20 Cranswick pig farms visited unannounced this summer were compliant with legislation and animal welfare........
