Six 'Airey houses' to be demolished to make way for new homes

But now, six 'Airey homes' are set to be demolished in a Norfolk village - because they are no longer fit to live in.

Freebridge Community Housing has applied to knock down the half dozen homes at Methwold, near Thetford.

The social landlord says in planning papers that the properties, on Herbert Drive, are now listed as "defective premises" under the Housing Act.

The papers add: "They will be unoccupied and are in a poor state of repair, and unsuitable........
