Anne Prentis, churchwarden at St Andrews Church at Great Ryburgh, near Fakenham, has been awarded a British Empire Medal for her services to the community.

Retired teacher Miss Prentis, 71, said: "I was very surprised, it's not the sort of thing that happens to ordinary churchwardens doing the stuff they normally do."
