National Trust pledges new plans will preserve 'unique character' of unspoilt harbour
Peter Nicholson, the NT's new general manager for the Norfolk Coast and Broads, pledged the charity would preserve the "unique character" of Morston, near Holt, as it revamped its facilities beside the quay.
Plans for a new visitor centre with meeting rooms have now been abandoned, along with proposals for a second-hand bookshop in The Lookout building.

Mr Nicholson, who joined the NT in March, said the NT had now scaled down its vision after listening to objectors to the previous plans.
Its latest proposals including pictures of the designs will be unveiled to villagers at a drop-in event........
