Chestnut Group, which owns The Maltings at Weybourne, near Sheringham, has applied to use a field behind the property for extra parking.

It says in a planning statement: "Parking for the residents of Weybourne or rather the lack of sufficient parking generally in the centre of the village has become a very vocal issue and caused much consternation."

But the idea of using an area of the field around the size of a football pitch for "overspill" parking when the hotel........
