Thief 'narrowly avoids' jail after stealing £330,000 worth of books from printers
Christopher Nunn, 43, was stealing specialist legal and tax resource books that ranged in value between £100 and £1,000 from CPI William Clowes, a printers he worked at in Beccles from 2008.
Ipswich Crown Court heard he was taking them over a "prolonged" and “sustained period of time” between March 2019 and September 2023, and selling them on Amazon through a company called UK Top Sellers.
Christopher Nunn leaving Ipswich Crown Court after the outcome of his sentencing hearing (Image: Bruno Brown) During that period, Amazon had sold in excess of £205,000 worth of books and Nunn was paid £163,000, with the difference believed to have been charges paid to Amazon.
The retail value of the books sold was £329,000.
The court heard that between March 27, 2019 and September 25, 2023, Nunn had submitted five invoices for Amazon to pay his company.
Nunn arrived at court with a bag of his belongings as he had previously been told he would face a "lengthy prison sentence".
