Owners of historic pier 'delighted' as crowds flock to see £1.8m revamp
The owners of Britannia Pier in Great Yarmouth are "delighted" to "breathe new life" into the structure after a £1.8m revamp.
Crowds gathered in the sunshine on Saturday afternoon as the borough mayor, Carl Annison, cut the ribbon to mark the completion of major work.
The improvements include a plush new indoor entertainment centre, which is hoped will turn the seasonal hotspot into a year-round venue.
A carpeted, sheltered walkway from the entrance has also been created and will lead visitors to the new building from the front.

"The improvements we have made to the pier can keep it open all year round, which we hope could have a positive knock-on effect for the town.
"We have put a lot of effort into organising this free event, so we hope people have enjoyed themselves."
