Rupert Lowe called on the James Paget Hospital, in Gorleston, to carry out significant changes in the light of last week's Supreme Court landmark gender ruling.

It is the latest round of hostilities between the MP and the JPH, which was described as the 'hospital which doesn't understand childbirth' after it published advice saying babies were "assigned their gender" at birth.

The hospital document told staff to avoid describing babies as being "born male or female" and instead use the phrase "assigned female/male at birth" as this "accurately depicts the situation of what happens at birth".
