Officers from the armed response team were called to a property in Wellesley Road on the morning of January 13 after a man was found with "lacerations to his head".

The injured man, in his 40s, was taken to the James Paget Hospital with serious injuries and a cordon at the property was put up while forensics carried out investigations.

A man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of GBH at the property called Albany House, a former care home that is now 18 privately rented flats, where the suspected attack was believed to have occurred.
