Latvian drug addict with £200-a-day habit wrestled to ground after stealing perfume
Karolis Jasmontas, 30, entered Boots in Great Yarmouth’s Market Gates Shopping Centre and grabbed an “armful” of fragrances before attempting to leave the shop.
Josephine Jones, prosecuting, told Norwich Magistrates’ Court the security guard had "recognised" Jasmontas as he entered the shop, so “watched” him from the moment he went in.
She said as the Lithuanian quickly tried to leave with the items, the security guard pulled him down.
However, the defendant managed to get up and make off with the stolen items, before a member of the public intervened to help pull........
