It's finally coming home! Footballer called up to play for England at age of 51
And following a taste of Wembley glory in the 1990s, Paul Gibbs will finally be representing the country he loves at the age of 51.
Paul Gibbs, of Great Yarmouth, became a professional footballer at the age of 21, and now, thirty years later, he will wear the Three Lions on his chest in a clash against Scotland next month.
England's over-50s side will travel North to Livingston to take on a Scotland veterans team on April 6 in what is set to be a "feisty affair".
In May, he will then compete in a veterans tournament in Thailand with fixtures against Iran, Vietnam, Uruguay, Thailand, and New Zealand planned.
It won't be the first time Mr Gibbs has been in the football limelight.
In 1994 he was part of Diss Town Football Club's greatest moment when the side won the FA Vase Cup in front of a packed Wembley Stadium against Taunton.
