Council's new £60,000 anti-racism role described as 'ideological rot'
The authority, which is making £45m of cuts and savings in order to balance its budget, has created the new role to "embed anti-racist practice" in its children's services department.
But Rupert Lowe, the independent MP for Great Yarmouth, called on the council to "dump this poisonous" role.
He added it should "end the ideological rot and focus on delivering efficient services for my constituents. We don't want, or need, this political garbage."
